| Oak Grove School Logan Twp, NJ |
| The remains of the Oak Grove School can be found at the intersection of Oak Grove Road and Stone Meeting House Road in Logan Township, NJ. Very little is known about the Oak Grove School, but from two sources I found online there was an account of a gentleman named William Rode whom attended the school shortly after there family settled in Woolwich Township, sometime in the 1860's. And one other reference I found in a book called Swedesboro and Woolwich Township (Images of America: New Jersey) stated that the Oak Grove School was built as early as 1819 and used until sold in 1920. Not much remains now of the old school, but a small foundation made of various stones probably found in the area. The school appears to have been a one room school house with the possibility of a small cellar at the one end of the school house. There are also remains of some cinder blocks and what appears to be a few original wooden floor beams. |
